Inspired by rufftoon's fan comic 'Water tribe', and one particular drawing about how 'water tribe don't know what sexy is.' Had a variation on this idea come up before, but this was the first opportunity I got to pen it down.
Guh, I wish I'd been able to get Zhao to have more of a 'Oh crap, this is hot, but if they catch me, I'm going to die' look, but scared/worried works too... *tries to convince herself*
None of these characters belongs to me, credit goes to rufftoon and the creators of avatar.

That is totally awesome, ha ha! Zhao approves, and hopes never to get caught spying on singing women. [link] Mind if I link to it in my LJ? I just have to share this!!

Oh, darn it, I've been absentmindedly planning to draw Katara and Yue throat singing for months and you beat me to it!
That said, this is lovely work, and very informational as well as beautifully drawn. Also, I am very, very jealous of your profile drawing skills, particularly the slightly tilted but not-quite-a-3/4 that I've never yet mastered. Go, you!

Hehe. I never really thought about how throat singing must look, I've only ever heard it on CBC Radio from time to time (and lordy did it creep me out at first, I didn't know humans could make those kinds of sounds)
Notice I opted to put in background history riiiiiight where I could have added in 'sound effects' for the singing.
I'll say most inuit throat singing I've seen looked more like the 'ready' panel, since I don't hear much about the practically lip to lip style practiced these days. I posted a link to that video I'd referenced in the comic, and at the end there you can see a bit more dynamics behind the game.
You knoooow you still want to do it. spread the water tribe-singing-love Heck, if you did it, there'd actually be a chance of something being colored. And your art captures avatar style so well!
As for the profiles, all I can say is I must've been having a good art day for them to have come out as nicely as they did with as little frustration as it took >_>
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".

Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
